Marks obtained in the Main Examination only will be considered for short listing for interview.
I. LIC maintains the right to set minimum qualifying marks to pass the interview as well as minimum eligibility conditions to limit the pool of candidates called in for interviews based on the number of openings. The maximum interview score is sixty, while the unreserved qualifying score for EWS is
OBC has thirty.For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, the qualifying score is 27. Candidates will not be allowed to move on to the next round of selection if they do not receive the minimum qualifying marks as determined by LIC. There will be no correspondence in this regard; the decision made by LIC will be final and binding on the candidates.
II. Subject to the availability of applicants who pass the online main exam and solely based on their ranking in their particular category, approximately three times as many candidates will be invited for interviews as positions that need to be filled.
III. If two or more candidates have similar scores, the candidates in that group will be ranked according to their combined scores from the online main exam and interview, as well as any additional post-graduation qualifications they may have (i.e., the candidate with the higher educational background will be placed higher in the
the merit order), and if there is even more closeness in educational background, the merit order will be determined by age (older people would be ranked higher). LIC is not required to accept every applicant with a comparable score. Only those who match the posted position will be considered.
IV. Out-of-town applicants who are called for interviews are eligible for reimbursement of Second Class Ordinary train or bus fare, limited to the fare by Railway Second Class Sleeper including reservation fees, to and from the place of residence to the interview location.
V. If a candidate is not declared successful on the main list, there won’t be a waiting list or contingency list.
For the final merit listing, the marks from the main exam and the interview will be taken into account.
