Intelligence Bureau ACIO Syllabus: Details of the syllabus for the Intelligence Bureau’s Grade II/Executive Exam for Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (ACIOs).

Intelligence Bureau ACIO Syllabus details:

1. Written Examination

2. Interview.

I. Written Examination: There will be two written exams: Tier I, at 100 marks, and Tier II, for 50 marks. This consists of the following two papers:

a. Tier-I Exam: 100 Objective type MCQs, divided into 5 parts containing 20 questions of 1 mark each on:
1. Current Affairs
2. General Studies
3. Numerical aptitude
4. Reasoning/logical aptitude
5. English
[Negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer.]

b. Tier-II Exam: Essay (30 marks) and English comprehension and précis writing (20 marks) make up the 50-mark descriptive type paper.

II. Interview:  Interview will consist of 100 marks. 

Note: A psychometric or aptitude test may be administered to candidates during the interview process.

Intelligence Bureau ACIO Eligibility:SCIENCE OFFICE BUREAU Executive Examination – 2023 for Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade II.

Age: Between 18-27 years.

Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit to Reserved category candidates:

  1. Candidates who identify as SC/ST or OBC may be eligible for a 5-year or 3-year age relaxation.
  2. Departmental applicants up to 40 years old who have completed three years of regular and continuous service are eligible for a relaxation of the upper age limit. Personnel employed by PSUs, autonomous/statutory bodies, etc. are not eligible for this waiver; it is solely applicable to Central Government Civilian employees holding civil posts.
  3. In the case of widows, divorced women, and women who have been judicially separated from their husbands but have not remarried, the age restriction is lenient up to 35 years for UR candidates and up to 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
  4. In accordance with government directives periodically issued by the Central Government, the age limit is lenient for former service members, as well as for the dependents and offspring of Gujarat riot victims from 2002 and the Sikh riot victims from 1984.
  5. The age restriction is reversible for the deserving athletes listed in DoP&AR O.M. No. 14015/1/76-Estt.(D) dtd 4.8.1980 Paragraph 1 (a) by a maximum of 5 years. The desired certificate in the form and from the authority specified in the OM under reference (as per the Annexure at the end of the detailed advertisement) must be presented by the candidate requesting age relaxation in this category.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must be graduates of any discipline from a university that the Central Government has designated as such.

Note 1:There are no Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the HH, OH, VH, or Autism categories who are deemed qualified for the position of ACIO-II/Exe. Thus, they DO NOT NEED to apply.

Note 2: : The number of vacancies is provisional and liable to change.

Note 3:

On the closing date, the candidates’ eligibility in terms of age, educational background, caste/category, etc., shall be ascertained. On the closing date, the candidate must meet the minimum requirements for the position, which include graduation or its equivalent.

December 15, 2023, until 2359 hours, and they have to have been deemed successful in it.
