OSSC Junior Stenographer Eligibility 2025 :-

The candidates can apply online only if they satisfy the OSSC Junior Stenographer eligibility criteria defined in terms of age, qualification, and nationality.

• The applicants must have passed class 12th from a recognized board of education.
• The age of the applicants must not exceed 38 years.
• For the post of Junior Grade Typist, 10th-pass candidates between 18-38 years of age can apply.

OSSC Junior Stenographer Selection Process 2025 :-

The selection of candidates for the OSSC Junior Stenographer post includes a Prelims, Mains, Skill Test, and Certificate Verification. Details of the same are discussed below.

Prelims

It is an objective-type exam for 150 marks. Candidates who qualify the same will only be eligible for the mains exam. The prelims is only qualifying in nature. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks of the Mains and Skill Test.

Mains

The Mains Exam carries a weightage of 100 marks. It assesses the candidate’s knowledge of English and Odia languages. Candidates need to qualify this stage to be eligible for the skill test.

Skill Test

This stage includes a Computer Skill Test for 50 marks and a Stenography Test for 50 Marks (Typing Test for Typist). The Stenography Test involves the following:’

• Dictation in English for 5 minutes approximately @ 70 words per minute to be transcripted on Computer within 25 minutes.
• Dictation in Odia for 5 minutes approximately @ 70 words per minute to be transcripted on Computer within 35 minutes.
